Learn More and Sign Up for our You-Pick Subscription

Thanks for your interest in a 2023 You-Pick Subscription, please read all the details below to see if this is the right fit for you.

Over the past few years many people have expressed interest in having access to our You-Pick section without being a full CSA shareholder. Last year we have decided to expand (nearly double) our You-Pick section to accommodate those wishes. The 2023 season is the second year we are offering separate access to the You-pick area through a You-Pick Subscription. This option is great for families or individuals who want to learn more about how their food is grown or just love picking fresh bouquets of flowers for their home every week. Maybe you are a long-time CSA shareholder who is looking for a way to stay connected to the farm but would like more flexibility. Or maybe you are new to Philadelphia and want a way to have a moment in nature every week. Either way the You-Pick Subscription is a great way to be a part of our Weavers Way Farm family.

What does the You-Pick Subscription offer? It includes some vegetables, specifically peas, beans, hot & mild peppers, tomatillos, ground cherries and cherry tomatoes. The majority of the You-pick is planted in flowers and herbs, we have around 15 beds of flowers and over 15 varieties of herbs. What produce is available changes from week to week but here are some specific examples of what a share might be in each season:

The You-Pick Subscription does not include any pre-harvested vegetables. It gives you access only to the You-Pick designated area (marked with signs) and does not include the whole farm.

Once the CSA has begun (usually late May), You-Pick subscribers can pick on days the market is open; on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8am - 7pm or Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. Unlike our regular CSA share you don’t have to stick to the same day week to week, but we ask you only pick once a week. These hours are earlier than last year to accommodate people who prefer morning hours. We request that subscribers stick to these listed times to ensure that there are farm staff present.

We rely on the honor system to ensure that everyone picks the amount set in our newsletter or on the blackboard at the farm. CSA shareholders and You- Pick subscribers will have access to mostly the same amount of you-pick produce (although the You-Pick subscribers will have access to a few VIP areas).

We will offer a free workshop at the beginning of the season for any You-Pick shareholder to learn more about how best to harvest and utilize their share.

The price of the You-Pick Subscription is $240, in other words $10 a week for 24 weeks. Some weeks you might not pick $10 worth of produce but other weeks you would pick more than $10 worth. When deciding on the price for this option we took into consideration that just one bouquet of flowers costs around $10, one bunch of herbs $2-3 and one pint of cherry tomatoes $4-5.
