For the past three years, Co-op members and customers have supported the Food Justice Committee's annual Summer Food Drive. Each year, we've collected and delivered almost 5,000 pounds of food to three community pantries: Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard (Ambler); Holy Cross Parish (Mt. Airy); and St Luke's Episcopal Church (Germantown).
The Coronavirus pandemic unceremoniously upended our plans for our 2020 Summer Food Drive. This year, to ensure the safety of all, we decided to take our drive online because if anything, the challenges presented by the virus have only increased the level of need in our community.
So, we're going VIRTUAL!
As usual, we will be supporting Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler, Holy Cross Food Pantry in Mt. Airy, and St. Luke's Community Nutrition Programs in Germantown. Through your online contributions you can safely and effectively lend your support to the vital work these communities provide - making food available to people in need.
Between now and September 30th, we hope to raise at least $6,000 to donate among the three pantries.
We need your help to reach, and hopefully exceed our goal, by donating whatever you can now (every bit helps) and spreading the word!
Many thanks from the FJC
